SSI Services, Inc. has provided comprehensive Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) Services to the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) through a broad contract vehicle awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) in the spring of 1999.
This multi- year initiative
included on-site support at NIMA's Bethesda and St. Louis campuses and entailed four primary tasks. First, SSI led and facilitated NIMA's Mission Support personnel as they re-engineered their business practices into state of the art processes which were efficient, effective and CAFM compatible. Second, SSI led and coordinated a working group consisting of mission support subject matter experts, application technical experts, industry representatives and NIMA employees in a comprehensive review and analysis which resulted in the selection of the ideal CAFM application for NIMA's operational environment. Third, beginning at two isolated NIMA beta-sites, SSI provided on-site support for the implementation of CAFM technologies intended to proceed agency wide. Fourth, SSI coordinated CAFM initiative to support and maintain compatibility with current and future database applications within NIMA including consolidated help desk, property accountability, maintenance management, etc.
SSI worked closely with the contracting team comprised of GSA and NIMA personnel throughout the procurement process to maximize benefit of this contract vehicle. SSI committed to continue providing the leadership and partnering that was critical to this project's success as our integrated work teams resolved the challenges which were be presented by this complex and dynamic project.
